About a week after, however, she was getting that whole torso off the ground better and actually scooting! She was also pretty proud of herself that she could sit herself up in her crib when she woke up.
Ava has always loved baths but she now especially loves her washcloth. She steals it from me to suck on and freaks if I take it back. She will move herself around the tub with it in her mouth in fear of losing it.
Some firsts for Ava:
First time swinging in a big kid little kid swing and she loved it of course!
Ava went to her first birthday party! This was the aftermath of helping Holland dive into her birthday cake. I think Ava thought it was for her.
First shoes that actually fit her short, fat feet. Not to mention ones that she wouldn't try and take off in a matter of minutes.
If I had been writing this post when she was actually 9 months old, I would have said that her first word was "up" (besides ma ma, da da) If we ever said "up" she would consistently repeat "puh" when she wanted us to pick her up or get her out of her high chair. Then she started saying "upuh" it by herself. However, she doesn't do it so much any more (10+ months) so I don't know if it counts. But it was fun while it lasted!
She's been going to bed at about 8:30 and waking up between 7:30 and 8. It's a pretty great schedule for now as long as I keep feeding her well throughout the day to keep her tanked through the night. She loves to eat yogurt, cheerios, applesauce, sweet potatoes, and pieces of pretty much anything I am eating.
At her 9 month appointment she weighed 16 lbs 12 oz., and was 27 inches long. 27 sounded SO long to me compared to her 20 when she was born. I can't believe she'll be 1 soon!
