Homecoming Weekend @ BYU

We went to Provo last weekend for homecoming weekend at BYU.  It's been 6 months since we left BYU and it was a strange feeling to be there, not being a student anymore.  The memories flooded back and we got to see some great friends, but we didn't feel like we belonged there anymore, which is a good thing because we love where we are in life right now.

Friday - Devin and I got In N Out for lunch in the middle of seeing lots of old friends! Then we met up with the family for dinner and went to Homecoming Spectacular.  Throughout the whole show, Devin and I kept leaning over and pointing out performers we knew and love.  There is so much talent there!
Saturday - We woke up for the homecoming parade where we got to cheer on our family runners (there was a 5K that led the parade) and ate the BLUEST chocolate chip pancakes I've ever had.  Jordan and Corina came all the way down from Sandy just to see us!  We miss our game/dessert nights with them and so much more.  She made an adorable little blanket for the baby.  I think I'll have to have a post just for baby blankets!  After the parade we got J-Dawgs and then went to the football game! Even though we didn't win, it was one of BYU's better games until about the last 10 minutes.  Just being there amongst fans and lots of white and blue was so much fun :)  We went to Pizza Pie Cafe for dinner, somewhere Devin and I used to go on nights when we had just had a long day - we love it!

Thank you Harpers!  It was so fun to be with almost the whole family and take a much needed break from work and chores :)

**Oh I have to tell the story about that picture of Devin in the parade!  We were just walking to J-Dawgs and there in the parade was a HUGE picture of Devin's head bobbing up and down.  We could not contain our laughter at how random it was - if I remember correctly, his was the only picture they were carrying as if he was some famous person.  He had been in the BYU Annual Giving Letter (his pic is on page 4 and the little blurb about him on pg 5) this summer for the accomplishments he made using his language certificate from BYU.  The people holding his picture in the parade were promoting "giving back" to BYU to help sponsor programs like the language certificate program.  Anyway, we had to get a picture of him next to it and the girl was so confused at first - she had to do some double takes between Devin and the picture she was holding.  Pin It
