Come Listen To A Prophet's Voice

This is honestly what I consider to be "the most wonderful time of the year".  I've actually been singing just those words of that song to myself.  Three days ago - October 3rd - fall came! Suddenly we were shutting our window at night because it was getting so chilly and the leaves around our apartment had turned yellowish/orange.  This is what I've been waiting for!  I baked pumpkin chocolate chip bread and got out/finished a burlap project I started LAST year for fall but never got around to.  Fall decor pics later...

And now we start a weekend of pure spiritual uplift, as we listen to General Conference - watch or listen HERE to see for yourself.
I'm especially excited for this conference because Devin and I are in a new stage of life, about to be parents, and I feel like a lot of things that may have been said before will have a new importance for us now. We are always taught to prepare ourselves for listening to conference by already having questions and concerns in our mind that we'd like to have answered and be praying about these things beforehand.  What better way does the Lord have to answer our prayers than through the mouths of his servants?

I'm always amazed at how special the words are that come from the prophet, the apostles, and all those who speak in conference.  Many of us have had the experience of feeling like "what they are saying was meant SPECIFICALLY for me!
Here's a little infographic for ya, from Deseretnews.com
On Mormon.org, they explain our relationship with the leaders of our church as this: "Mormons are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and are committed to honor and follow God’s will, which comes through His Prophet and Apostles. This means we prayerfully listen to their words, support them, and pray for their well-being."  It's the least we can do!

Anyway, I can't wait...(being a couch potato all weekend is also a nice perk!) Pin It
