Pregnancy #2

I have yet to take any very good pictures of my pregnant belly with the intention of doing a pregnancy update post like I did all the time when I was pregnant with Ava.  But I promised a friend I would do one...now that I'm almost 30 weeks! So here are some random pics of my growing belly over the past months!

16 Weeks

18 Weeks

20 1/2 Weeks - We know it's a boy!

22 Weeks

27 Weeks

29 Weeks (bottom two)

This pregnancy has really been wonderful, physically.  I haven't even gotten nauseous, which I did a little bit with Ava when I'd go too long without eating. I also don't feel huge or uncomfortable yet, but here's the details of where I'm at:

How far along? 29.5 weeks.
Maternity clothes?A mix of both, I can only button one pair of pants still so I use a belly band or a hair tie most of the time.
Stretch marks? Not yet
Sleep: I find myself fighting to stay on my side throughout the night, always wanting to fall to my back.  I also wake up at about 5:30 every morning really congested, needing to blow my nose :/
Best moment this week: Having Ava come cuddle in bed with us for a minute after she wakes up - she lifted up my shirt and patted and kissed my belly :)
Miss Anything? Not having to worry about whether my clothes are going to fit that day
 Movement: Lots at night!
Food cravings:
Not specifically but I've had much more of a sweet tooth this pregnancy than with Ava!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Gender: Boy!
Labor Signs: That "skin tightening" feeling around the stomach has started a couple weeks ago, a lot earlier than it did with Ava - doctor said it will appear earlier with every pregnancy
Symptoms: I get tired easily, not sure if that's pregnancy or having a toddler haha.  But I also have allergies for the first time, making me constantly congested and I have a sore throat all the time. AND I have had weird splotches on my face, like discoloration on one side that I think is a pregnancy symptom or I just wasn't very thorough with my sunscreen application.
Belly Button in or out? Out, and starting to show through my shirts, hehe
Wedding rings on or off? On
Mood: Happy because it's summer!
Looking forward to: Getting the last piece of fabric for his quilt and starting it!

I've been given so many boy clothes already that I can't even think of anything I need to get for him besides diapers and a better bottling system because I really want to get him used to taking a bottle earlier.  Feeling SO blessed about everything and also enjoying being with my new doctor.  .

Sugar and Spice or Frogs and Mice?

Well, I guess my mother's intuition didn't work so well this time around because...

That's right, we're having ourselves a little girl! The more I think about it the more excited I am and the more it feels so perfect :)

We went to Target to celebrate by starting a registry.  So fun to finally get serious about preparing and shopping at places besides garage sales! haha

Anyway, I'm 21 weeks and 5 lbs more than 1st appointment with lots of room to grow.  I'm just so glad to know that being pregnant with a girl doesn't make me sick like I've always heard.  Baby is very healthy - it was so fun to see every single part of her from fingers and toes to to brain to her beating heart!  She even flexed her big muscles for us (we got a good arm shot and she had a very defined bicep).   I feel like 4 months is going to come so fast but oh. so. slow.  WE LOVE HER ALREADY AND CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE HER! Barely Bumpin' - 17 weeks

Went to the doc on Wednesday: Gained 3 lbs since last visit (1 month ago) and heard little one's heart beat thumpin away!  Rubella test came back negative which means I just got the vaccine so long ago (when I was a baby) that my levels of antibodies are too low to measure so...I will be getting a German measles booster shot as soon as this baby is out.

I saw a cute survey THIS GIRL does on her blog.  Short and sweet:
How far along? 17.5 weeks.
Maternity clothes? No, but I unbutton my pants a lot :)
Stretch marks? No.
Sleep: I seem to turn from side to side more often in the night but no runs to the bathroom yet!
Best moment this week:  "Joining"/redeeming a free 1 mo. membership to Curves and enjoying the perfect pregnancy workout.  Along with getting yelled at by old ladies who think I'm too skinny to be working out there.  I've had many conversations so far that go like this: "I'm expecting in November" "Expecting what?"
Miss Anything? Running in beautiful weather.  Running makes my hips hurt lately.
Movement: Not yet but the doctor said to expect them within the next week or so!
Food cravings:
I wouldn't call them "cravings" but fruit, cheese, and crackers are my favorites these days.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Gender: N/A although we think BOY.
Labor Signs: Ha. No
Symptoms: I'm feeling great and loving this stage of pregnancy! Clothes still fit okay and no more nausea :)
Belly Button in or out? Working it's way to being a full on out-y!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Mood: Happy
Looking forward to: Feeling some movement in there!

Our Little Peanut

Well, I went to my first doctor visit yesterday at almost the end of my 1st trimester, which means our baby is probably a lot bigger than most people's first ultrasound pics - it's size/limbs actually took the nurse and doctor by surprise at first!  My favorite is the second picture down, it's the 4-D clay looking picture and it's just so amazing to see real arms and legs!  It(he*) was a total  wiggler!  The doctor was having a hard time getting a clear picture because it was moving so much.
That was when it felt SO real.  I think that moment, watching a moving little baby with arms and legs, was the happiest I've been since we've been here :)  Unfortunately neither I nor Devin really knew what was going to be happening at this first appointment so we didn't think to have him skip work yesterday morning to come but he'll definitely be there to find out the gender on July 2nd!   Can't wait :)

*I just want to stop calling it "it".  I just feel like it is totally going to be a boy, so I just want to call it "he".  If I slip that in every once and a while, that's why :)   If it's a girl, we'll still be happy! Pin It
